The Clamshell is a truly exceptional luxury lakefront log cabin set on the relaxing and gorgeous northern shore of Clam Lake! The cabin has a cheerful, fun, and relaxing northern Michigan woodsy style both inside and out. The cabin features 2 comfy living rooms, an upstairs sitting area with lakeview, A/C, high-speed Wi-Fi, a gorgeous modern kitchen and dining area, w/d, deck, dock, spa / hot tub, 2 kayaks, and an outdoor gas grill. This cabin truly provides for an incredible vacation!

There are 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom on the main floor. The third bedroom is on the second floor and it has its own private en suite bathroom. In the basement, there is a fun downstairs den with a live streaming television and a large play area for kids. There is also a new front load washer and dryer in the basement that is available for guest to use.

Outside, there is a wonderful new spa / hot tub (just purchased in 2022) that provides a great view of Clam Lake while relaxing in the spa. There will be a dock in place during the summer months and guests are welcome to bring their own boat. There is also a wrap-around deck on the main floor, which features a propane gas grill and an outdoor dining table with a great view of the lake. Two kayaks and a fire pit are also provided with the rental.

The northern shore of Clam Lake is rather quiet and peaceful. There are a mix of gorgeous lakefront homes along the lake and then some lovely farms and orchards away from the lake.

The cabin is in Bellaire, Michigan, which is the county seat and has a charming historic downtown area with a number of higher-end shops, cafes, and restaurants in the down area. Short's Brewery is also in downtown Bellaire and is famous in the region for great beers! If you don't care for beer, Torch Lake Wine Cellars is just 2 miles from the cabin! Also, Schuss Mountain / Shanty Creek Resort is in Bellaire and is about a 20-minute drive from the cabin.

Clam Lake connects with Torch Lake, which features gorgeous blue and turquoise water and is nationally recognized as one of the most beautiful lakes in the United States! In addition to Torch Lake, Clam Lake also connects with Lake Skegemog , Elk Lake, and Lake Bellaire all by boat. In fact, guests can boat all the way to Bellaire by river with a great docking area to access downtown Bellaire. Order take out and enjoy dining right on the boat! Guests can also easily access and enjoy (by either boat or car) the popular Dockside Torch Lake restaurant and bar that is located right where Clam Lake connects with Torch Lake!

If you have your own boat, the public boat launch on Clam Lake is nearby to the west of the cabin. If you don't have your own boat, DeWitt's Marina (also located nearby where Clam Lake and Torch Lake connect) is a full service marina offering boat rentals in addition to ice, beverages, snacks, gas, service, and repairs.

Thus, the cabin provides a great base for lots of fun adventures of all kinds, whether on the water or on land!
