Tuscany and its landscapes is what I love most. It excites me every day just like it was the first time. Being born in a Tyrrenian sea island, landscapes are for me a reason of life, a need, something that I cannot do without. It is fortunate that I could buy this place - my dream house. These 67 sqmeters, placed at the bottom of a steep staircase, overlook one of the most beautiful and sensual panoramas of the world! The place has been restored for my family, and we are used to spending time there when it is free. We also love sharing it with other people who, like me, recognise in Tuscany and all its amenities "The great Beauty", la vita è bella!
I spend my time trying to tame an escarpment below the house that was abandoned for over 50 years. A jungle of pomegranate trees covered with brambles and vines bordered my garden. This is my "Mission impossible". It's hard to fight nature; she always wins. But we can find compromises. Remove where there is too much, try to enforce some order, and add flowers and colours - then get busy.
In the evening I am pleased to feel tired, and sleep comes very deep. It is nice to rest on the terrace, looking at the horizon, the sky, the thousand shades of green, and listen to the birds or watch them chase each other joyfully. Later before darkness, I wait for a pair of fawns that slowly advance in the scrub vegetation in search of food. Try not to make noise, they could run away!
To read books or finally browse a catalog of art is also something to do on the terrace. In this place for sure you will have a detox from television, because here listening to Puccini opera is much better.
Fresh food and the pursuit of quality nutrition is one of my special interests. I like to share all this with my guests, and often I realise that my guests are like me. Like me, my guests are thrilled by the spectacles of nature. For this reason, very often it creates between us a relationship of sympathy, and a memory to take with them over time.
