A pesar de las transformaciones urbanísticas y arquitectónicas operadas en la ciudad en las décadas de 1960 y 1970, la calle Méndez Cabezola sigue manteniendo buena parte de su encanto gracias a la permanencia en su paisaje de algunas edificaciones que responden al patrón de la arquitectura tradicional.
