Lovely apartment, private space. Open and spacious dining and living area. Well equipped kitchen: refrigerator, full stove/oven, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee makers, pots, pans, dishes, utensils. Breakfast makings on hand. Media room with Smart TV, comfy seating, computer work station. Large, roomy master bedroom w/ king size bed OR TRANSFORMS INTO TWO TWINS. Bath adjoins bedroom, walk in shower, no tub. Beaches, downtown Wilmington, UNCW, all within a 15 minute drive.

Former living space for grandparents, 900 sq. ft., that encompasses the entire left wing of the home and was an apartment addition to our home. The apartment is accessed via a screened back porch which opens to the foyer where you can lose your shoes and rock your socks. The porch and foyer areas are shared, but the apartment is otherwise a completely separate and private space. We welcome you to relax on the porch and enjoy nature. The home has a wheelchair accessible ramp and the apartment has 36" doorways to accommodate same. There are grab bars in the shower and near the toilet.

We are 15 minutes from the beach, downtown Wilmington, and UNCW. Our neighborhood hosts a public park with tennis courts and 18-hole disc golf course, and children's play area with picnic area and clean restrooms. Overall, our home and immediate neighborhood, is a quiet place, good for rest and relaxation.

Well, this profile page asked us to let you know a bit about us, so here are some basics. With Richard nearing retirement age, having raised and launched three children, and after twelve years of care giving for Richard's parents in our home, the nest is feeling a wee bit empty. Our newly renovated in-law apartment has been providing great opportunities for sharing, caring, and extending hospitality. Over the past couple years we have enjoyed serving hurricane relief teams, visiting missionaries, friends, family, and an occasional stranger. These folks have given us lots of positive feedback and encouraged us to spread our wings and reach out to the Airbnb community. .................A short history. The past sixty plus years provided us the opportunity to see much of the east coast of the USA. We were born and raised in Connecticut, and have sojourned in the Boston, Massachusetts area; Syracuse, New York; Wilmington, NC; and Lake City, Florida. Broadening our horizon, we spent five years serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Sentani, Papua, Indonesia managing a hostel for international high school students. Hence our listing of Bahasa Indonesia as a second language, though it’s a bit rusty nowadays. Living in an Asian culture also influenced the "lose your shoes and rock your socks" mentality upon entering the home. .............Best now described as "home bodies", we are looking forward to bringing the world to our door through this new adventure as an Airbnb host.

Hi from Richard and Linda. We look forward to hosting you. Meeting, greeting and welcoming you into our home is something we really enjoy so we prioritize that in our schedule. As we are home bodies you will usually find us available to assist if a need arises during your stay.

COVID CLEANING…As in the past, our goal is always to provide you, our guest, with an immaculately clean space. Now we take the extra precaution of sanitizing and disinfecting all high-touch areas, appliances, electronics, counter tops, sinks, toilet, and more. In addition, we seek to provide a 72-hour buffer between bookings. Experts have told Airbnb, if the virus were present in the air or on surfaces, this will protects against the risk of potential exposure for our next arrival. Though we and all guests have been well, for your safety, we choose to err on the side of caution.

CHECK IN: We have set a 2-8 p.m. check-in window, but understand situations arise that can cause delays and we can be flexible. We're very sorry, but please do not book a couple hours before your expected arrival time, we simply are not able to accommodate guests on such short notice.

CHECK OUT time is officially 3 p.m., but again we allow some flexibility, especially if we do not have guests arriving the next day. CHECK OUT PROCEDURE is simple, message us your expected departure time, especially helpful if you are leaving earlier than 3 p.m.

All overnight guests must be pre-booked through Airbnb. Please communicate with us if an unexpected situation arises and you have an extra guest needing permission to stay.
