The community, then called Camp Gordon Johnston, was set near the beautiful beaches of the gulf coast, and St George Island, for easy access during training for the D-Day invasion! It is situated conveniently between the fresh, upscale town of Appalachacola, and the scenic state parks of Wakula Springs. Lanark is a beautiful place to stay to explore the history and breathtaking beaches of the Forgotten Coast!

Stores and restaurants within 2 miles. 18 miles to FSU and minutes to Wakulla Springs, Cherokee Sink, Leon Sinks, St. Marks, rivers and beaches.
