Not Maintained Well & Very Dusty — Avoid if you have allergies
Sharon’s house is in a wonderful neighborhood and in a beautiful location. Sharon’s house is definitely an older build, which itself would not be an issue, but the house is not very well maintained and the AirBnB was very dusty. Because of this, I would not recommend this place to anyone prone to dust mite allergies.
After about a week and a half, even though I was taking allergy meds daily and we had the air filters changed, we had to ask to get out of the AirBnB early due to all the dust. I suspect what I was having was dust mite allergies. I have lived in Austin for 5 years, and never had problems with allergies.
I appreciate the host’s willingness to work with me and terminate early, but I did have to pay 2 additional days as an early exit fee.
We also had some other minor issues, including the lock battery dying which caused us to be locked outside in under-freezing weather for about 20 minutes, as well as one of the faucets leaking water and spraying everywhere in the bathroom, though Sharon did have this issue repaired.
