In 2012, when I returned from London and a career in luxury retail, I began my short lets journey when I decided to host my own shabby-chic garden flat in Edinburgh’s famous New Town. After having success letting my own Airbnb, I saw the potential in the market, and quickly began hosting on behalf of friends and family. Through word-of-mouth alone, I went on to build a portfolio of Edinburgh holiday lets ranging from a penthouse in Ramsay Garden to rural homes in East Lothian, where I am now based.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay for my birthday in October.
The apartment was spacious, comfortable, has lots of character and access to the building/ apartment was straight forward.
The apartment is in a quiet area and about 20 minutes from the main city centre.
There is a wonderful deli close by which has the best sponge cake.
The bed is soft (I prefer a firmer mattress), but comfortable, but we did have a green light going off every few minutes from a sensor/ alarm box in the corner of the bedroom which was a little distracting.
Our toilet also stopped working for a small period of time, which we reported, but started working again.
The WiFi also stopped working, but after resetting the router it came back on.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay and the city of Edinburgh during the autumn season is truly magical.

Lovely apartment in a great location, easy to walk or get public transport around the city.
Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated - would say again.

Just a couple of things to point out:
* Only 1 key was provided which is a problem if anyone in your party goes home earlier to bed as have to get up to buzz you in
* in main bedroom there is a street light right outside the window
* lock box not at apartment (only 1 minute away) but if dark would be a nightmare to find, but once located easy to use
* needed to find alternative arrangements for storing bags on final day as no concierge available (even though in listing). There are plenty of options around the city and Rebecca does advise you on some you could use.
