Like other reviewers, I found Jack & Shanna to be VERY nice people. But unfortunately this was a very disappointing stay because so much of what I paid for was not provided.
It is unclear what they will do with this place in the future, as they moved most of their furniture out of the house a few days into my one-week stay, which they told me about only one day before they removed the majority of their furniture.
There were significant inaccuracies in the listing I booked; the description and photos promised things that were not provided, and it was very difficult to communicate with them about it. My first couple of “light” complaints were met with rationalization and excuses, so when things piled up I turned to Airbnb support. After I provided information and photos to Airbnb about the inaccuracies, Jack & Shanna argued vigorously that nothing was wrong, they falsely accused me of exaggerating, then they removed most of their misrepresentative photos, changed the listing, and blocked availability for quite a while.
Specifically: (1) They promised parking in the driveway, but their cars filled the driveway, so I had to park in the street. (2) They promised a usable living room with cable TV, but Jack had turned the living room into his very messy office and he admitted that the TV had been broken for a very long time. (3) They promised “Refrigerator, Microwave, Dishes and silverware, Oven” but when I arrived Jack quickly made a small space for the perishable food I had with me in the crowded and filthy refrigerator, and said that use of the kitchen was not included. (4) They promised “Airbnb's Enhanced Clean standards” and presented photos of a neat and clean living room, dining room, and kitchen, but the common areas were extremely messy and the kitchen was dirty with no area or appliances I would ever want to dig through their mess to use. And the ice and water from the refrigerator tasted like rancid food, which Jack said was because they only drink tea. (5) A few days into my one-week stay they moved all of the furniture and furnishings out of the living and dining room, making the place very noisy due to echoes.
After I provided photos to compare with the listing, Airbnb provided a partial refund for the obvious problems. But I still don’t think the hosts understood that they need to provide everything they promise in their listing and photos.
