My boyfriend and I had a great stay with Stan. He makes a great huge breakfast, the location is convenient for Glenwood & the spot was cute!

You’ll need a car to access most of Glenwood - Iron Mountain hot springs, the gondola, restaurants etc. but it’s like 10 mins. It was a bit confusing to get there since you need to follow googl maps & ignore the signs that say “no vehicles - hikers only”.

Also be aware that the host calls you after booking to request your dietary needs/preferences since he’s cooking for you.

Be aware he has a big but very friendly & well mannered dog.

This B&B is secluded yet convenient for access to Glenwood Springs. Outside of the clean, spacious bedroom and bathroom, there is access to a short hiking trail with a beautiful view and a fire pit to use in the evenings. The host’s long-haired German Shepherd, Girlfriend, is a friendly addition as you explore the property. The homemade breakfast in the morning was also phenomenal. We recommend stopping at the fish hatchery near the B&B to feed them (bring quarters for the food dispenser!) for a cool experience.

However, our experience was unfortunately soured due an interaction on the morning of our check out. After eating breakfast, we sat and talked with the host and spent most of the time exchanging typical pleasant small-talk. Then, he abruptly turned the conversation to his inflammatory political views and unsolicited life advice. We found this to be uncomfortable, unnecessary, and unprompted, and it ended our time there on a negative note. We came for a relaxing weekend getaway, not to hear our host unabashedly praise the "best president ever" and criticize younger generations.

Stan was an absolutely wonderful host and the property was beautiful. The breakfast was also quite robust and the perfect start to the day. I look forward to staying there again in the near future!
