Another pool that was reopened after a long campaign by a local group, Brixton’s Brockwell Lido is well-loved by the local community. It’s a protected 1930s Art Deco gem, with a 50-meter unheated pool that’s open year-round. There’s lots of room for sunbathing, and it’s in lovely Brockwell Park where you can wander after. The café at the lido is award-winning. Sit outside on the terrace by the pool on warm days or in the bright interior when it’s chillier. All day weekend brunch options include kedgeree, a hearty Indian rice dish. It’s open daily until 5 pm and for dinner in the summer months too.
